My 135gl has sprung a leak. I'm not sure where at yet as I'm still draining the tank, but I'm hoping it's only a seal and the bottom glass hasn't cracked somehow. Anyone got any recommendations on a sealant brand? If the bottom glass is cracked, I'm totally F'ed. Christmas cleaned me out and I'm broke as hell. My poor O and JD are back in the tiny-ass 55gl. They're not impressed.

Thats sucks! Sorry to hear that and I hope it isn't too bad. When I resealed my tank I just went to Lowe's and got GE Silicone II clear silicone...just make sure its 100% silicone with nothing added and you should be good. Otherwise most major aquarium companies make silicone that is usually available at most pet shops but will cost about 3X as much.

yike!!! it really sucked.... i have same incident... luckily , mine turn out
to be minor. just put some epoxy compound and its done... it did not even tried
to drain the tank. if it is positive patching...it is easy to remedy. what i did
was spread some sand in the area....and observed where the sand will be sucked.
when the leak had been identified, i just plugged it with epoxy....

can you reach the bottom corner inside? pushing the substrate away will
show the point of leak. or holding a soft string, run you hand
slowly on the area where leak is coming from, .... the escaping water will
suck the string... thus, the point of leak will be identified.... you can
plug it with water stuff or epoxy....

i ordered the 10oz size (x3) when i did my 8 footer, and they sent me marineland aquarium silicone. they wanted almost 25 dollars a tube for this at my LFS, its very good. and cheap too from these guys. by comparison the 3oz tube cost more at my LFS than the 10oz does online.

Okay, so my cheap, tight-fisted, self bought this stuff . I did some searching online and more often than not, this was recommended over the other GE brand because it doesn't contain any mold or mildew resistant chemicals. Besides, I can buy 3 of these for the price of one tube of All-Glass brand. Dunno if my lfs store even sells silicone and I won't bother checking because everything else they have down there is astronomically priced, and I'd have to pay shipping from Big Al's. Jebus I'm such a cheap bitch. LOL But honestly I can't see paying $9 a tube for something that is the exact same stuff as the $3 a tube brand.
