Can someone tell me if the heater will still have a
red light showing thats its heating but meanwhile possible not be working anymore ??? I just did a water change, unplugged the heater and now my heater shows its on but water is not getting warmer. I turned it up to see what would happen. Also when I put my hand in the tank and touch the heater it seems to be throwing no heat. You might say "hey its a no brainer" but it was just fine and now it appears not. By the way is supreme aquamaster still in business, lol. It was a great product way back then.

Thanks, I just wanted to know if I should run out and get one or not.

hmmm..I think I would go ahead and get a new one. If you don't see or feel it heating up it could be done for.

I have heard this before somewhere the light does not always mean the heater is producing heat it just means it's on.

Check the temperature of the tank. If it starts cooling then you will need a new heater. Does the light go out when you turn the heater down?

It is always a good idea to have a spare heater just in case

i like to keep 2 heaters in each tank ( 2nd 1 is used as a back up incase 1 fails)..

also having a digital therm with a temp alert is kind of nice too.. if the temp goes to high or too low it beeps n lets u know that the temps is out of the set range..

Well, the heater was shot the lil elements inside started to rot. So I went and purchased a Visi Therm Delux and will purchase 2 more when I get my 150. That way I will have a back up. Was not to crazy about this fully submersible thing (I'm used to the screw to the back of the take style, an I dating myself again, lol) but anyways its in, its working and its actually quite nice.

Thank you!

Can't do much better than the Visi-Therm heaters they really hold up well and are pretty accurate.
