I Have 4 tanks and my filters are

tank 1 fx5 and fluval 305 (2 large oscars)
tank 2 fluval 305 (various tropical and plec')
tank 3 tetratec 1200 and fluval 405 (2 small oscars 2 parrots and 3 chocolate cichlids)
tank 4 fluval 305 x2 (smaller tropical and plec')

having just done all the water tests on all my tanks 3 of them were spot on
tank 2 with just one filter was the only one where the tests were still ok but close to wanting any attention, so while not a Scientific test lol, it seemed to prove that 2 filters or larger the better gave better quality, i have a tetratec 700 that the seal has gone and have just ordered new ones, so will stick that on tank 2 when they arrive,

tank 3 was the one i asked for advice last week, which i converted from cold water to house the chocolates and then added the two parrots and baby oscars, and that again was spot on, (thanks to those who helped and were proved correct )
i was expecting that tank to be maybe borderline.

lol
a few good tips since joining have proved invaluable, i would never have thought of letting the filters run during water changes, seeing the small oscars playing in the outlets when water had dropped was cool,
as i said my "test" wasn't 100% Scientific but closest i'll ever get lol,
all the tests in the world but nothing like experience of those that have done it

Allways nice if the tests show that your doing the right thing.

Has anyone ever used one of these?

as i mentioned above i ordered new seals for tetratec ex 700, they came but havnt cured the leaking spare filter, so wanted a cheap spare, will probably stick it on tank 2 to cycle it, and then if i need it for one of the other tanks can move it around,
i did read the feedback and one said cheap plastic, but wondering if the uv would be ok to go on my large O tank (150 gallon) with a fx5
as i do get a bit of algae every so often
thanks
