Just wanted to gather everyones thought on me adding a under gravel filter to my 44 gallon corner tank.
The tank has a 60 gallon cartige filter now.and water is clear but i think it needs more circulation.Any thoughts??

this is just my opinion.

i personally dont like undergravel filters as keeps all the crap in yr tank basically it hides all the fish poo in yr substrate.where ass a canisister or HOB filter will actually suck all the crap out of yr tank.

with yr tank being 44gallons which is a bit on the small side for an oscar u will be forced to do very regular tank maintanence as the O's produce alot of waste.
DONT BUY ON IMPULSE DO SUM HOMEWORK FIRST

Neither fond of under gravel filters really, but there was an interesting thread recently about a kind of reverse UGF as I understood it:

I'd definitely add some filtration like a big canister filter or so, like Vbaby said. In a tank that small I'd try to get the water turned over at a rate of 10 times or so at least per hour. Bigger tank would be better though.
If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

Have to agree don't care much for UGF filters. The best way to determine if you have enough filtration is through water readings. What are your ammo, nitrite and nitrate readings and how often do you do water changes? If you have an O in that tank it's a little on the small side and I would think your readings would be high. So that would dictate doing frequent water changes to keep things under control. Adding an under gravel filter may make it worse.

I do water changes weekly sometime every 2 weeks at least 25%.
all my readings are good nitrite is a little high but the rest stay within range.water is clear, but has a bit of an oder to it.
