fluval or Etheim is what i would go for. single fx5 or pro 111, or 2 smaller filters. I like having the safety of 2. look to filter 300g plus. fx5/pro111 will do over 400g so you can run 1 but have no backup. 2 smaller filter rated a less output but totaling more is also a good option and you have backup. I run 2 fx5's. that said both makes are good, reliable and should last many yrs.

After reading this article I think it really might be worth the extra bucks for the EHEIM 2080.

Also no one really healed me with my marineland HOB filter do I need to load it with bio media for the bacteria? Im not lazy I tryed to look it up myself. It was giving to me brand new, but it didnt have any instructions.

marineland fitler though not the best filter choice for oscar come with bio wheels. its on these wheels that the beneficial bacteria live so i guess the short answer to your question is no you do not need to fill the filter itself full of bio media.

as for your choice of canister eheim make very good products and im sure you wont be disappointed with it. personally i would go with the fx5 myself but what i basically come down to is personal preference.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

Eheim make the best canisters (I did alot of homework) but the 2080 is 2x the price of the FX5 so I will be getting one for my 150 Gal. If I left the penguin 350 in my 90 what would be a good canister to add to that tank?

FX5

It's literally the best filter I've ever owned. I also have a cheapy Penn Plax canister that I use as well. It's not much, and was pretty inexpensive but it does a helluva good job for it's size, and it's my "Old Reliable". Now if I could just find a heater that I could say the same about... lol
