Any thoughts? I'd like to switch to something a bit more reliable than glass especially since the Oscar has discovered that the heater moves!
I know I can buy plastic heater guards, but if I can just go with Titanium, then I think I will. So I guess I'm asking if anyone has any experience with them, and do they like them?

I only know that the ones I was looking at a while ago are bloody expensive. However, if they do the job then I think they are definitely worth the money

That's what I thought as well. I think heaters are probably one of the more important aquarium accessories (especially when you live in a colder climate like I do) and we often end up buying cheaper heaters because our rational, spend-thrift, sides tell us that spending $50+ on something so small is insane! But if they do the job, then I think they're worth the money. Afterall, I spent $300 on a filter, what's $50 on a heater right? LOL

thats true when you consider what you pay for your tank, filter, lighting skimping on a heater does sound a little funny when you think of it....

I went with an inline heater (installed on the output from the canister). No concern about the fish burning themselves or breaking the heater; and it removes an unsightly piece of equipment from the aquarium.
Just another thought.
