hi guys i want to know if a Aquaclear 70 Power Filter it good for a 55g tank for one oscar and 1 plco if so would any of u guys know why my tank stays a lil bit cloudy tank has been up for about 2 mouths. here are the water test results

P.H 7.8 to 8.0
ammonia is 0 ppm
nitrate is 5.0 t0 10 ppm
nitrite is 0 ppm

Is this all the filter you have???

ya only one and my ammonia is 0.25 now do u need more then one?

If you are going to use Hang on the back filters you need enough filtration to turn your tank over 10 times an hour. You should ADD an Aquaclear 110. This along with the filter you have will be ok on your 55.

And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you need a bigger tank.. 1 Oscar requires 55 gallons to itself. So consider rehoming your pleco, or upgrading tanks!

okay would 2 of the Aquaclear 70 Power thats 600 gph and wen i clean my filter there is blackand brown stuff growing on the walls of the filter and on the media is that
beneficial bacteria if not should be clean its also on the filter tubes
with those 2 filter my water would turn allmost 11 times a hr

benifecial bacterias are invisible in the naked eye....what you can see are
just gunks and accumulated craps. just cleans the media in tank water in a bucket
and give the wall a good scrub and it will be gone....
