been offered a fluval fx5 for £100, good value? in two minds whether to go for it, mianly as its for my new tank and the tank itself (5"/2"/2") only cost me £40 so find it hard to justify paying so much more for the filter when the tank itself was a impulse buy to begin with!! lol

If the filter is brand-new then that is a good buy, if it is second-hand then I don't think I would be paying much more than about £70 for it

100 is not bad but need to know how old it is? FX5 is the benz in the filter
industry, thus may worth checking.

just literally emailed guy about it now, he is desperate to get out of the hobby and says he'll take £80 for it. including sponges and hoses etc, may check it out

dont bother buying it as its second hand. You can get a brand new one for £130 on ebay. Thats where i got mine, its was from a proper LFS too. It was £129.90 and includes a pot of flakes. I asked them to swap the flakes for cichlid pellets. There was also someone selling them for £127 but without the free food. Just had a look on ebay and the cheapest is £145

look for Amwell aquatics, as del says £129. and sometimes they have free bees with it like food. the shop is very close to me, so I can assure you your guarantee will be honored if you ever needed to return it.

thnks marcus, yeah ill be looking at lots of dif sources. seems the main thing that differs from site to site is postage, from free to like £20!! lol
