looks like a grid with fake plants attached to it. I dont think it would cause any major problems however oscars are infamous for pulling fake and real plants up so dont be surprised if your mats 'move'

Yeah they are fake plants, i was just wondering if it would have any bad effect on the fish for dropping food etc.

My oscar hasnt started moving anything yet, yet lol.

On a side note, what do you think, do you think it would look nice?

firstly there is nothing like the real thing... so real plants over fake ones any day...
secondly.. the oscars are excellent interior decorators so they change remove move plants / objects in the tank

for the looks part of it... how big is your tank.. and what else is in it???

now I have some doubts about food and shit getting stuck in these fake plants.. and it might be a little difficult to siphon them out... else go with your hearth.. if you feel you like it.. then go with it..

a tank should always reflect its owners personality

I agree with Warlock - I'm not sure how you would vacuum/suck out debris out of them.

It's a unique idea though! something I've never seen, and would be neat to see.

Maybe try a few and see how it goes before going all in?

True on the difficultvaccuuming, and i tried fake plants in the gravel.
They collect an ENORMOUS amount of debris underneath them.
Stuff gets caught in the fake leaves and creates a big pile of rubbish underneath the plants.
I tossed them out because of that.
Looks sweet, but you will have to remove them every time to get your gravel cleaned.

If you like the look of them then try them, however as already said oscar will decorate their tank how they like it. Eventually you will get bored of your oscars rearranging the tank and will get rid of fake plants.
