This is a picture of my new tank setup. Was originally going to have the tank flush with the wall, however decided on most inside cupboard at rear and some on worktop/breakfast bar.
Have added drawing from paintshop to show what it should look like when its finished. Tank is getting made and should be here in a week or two. It will hold about 600 Litres.
As I have one oscar and a couple of barbs at the moment in my current tank would it be wise to add another oscar or am I better keeping as is.
He is currently 8" and have seen another tiger oscar of 6-7" at my local shop, obvously one that got to big for somebody. Could they get along and will they be fine in 600 Litre tank.
Must admit, thinking about getting some Frontosa and keep Harry in his 260L tank on his own.

Have two tinfoil barbs at about 4" each. However they will be getting re-homed with a friend depending on what I do with new tank.
Also planning on two FX5's in cupboard for filtration.

Glad to hear that you are going to rehome the tinfoil barbs.
People actually don't know much about tinfoil barbs, it is only after a few months they realise that they have got one of the greediest, dirtiest fish around in their tank.
These fish can reach 12 inches and eat everybody out of house and home. They are so quick, they gobble up the food before anyone else has a chance to say "it's dinner time" I would never recommend these fish to anyone. I actually inherited two a couple of years ago, funnily enough, off one of our members, Aquaticlean. I didn't have very long before I realised what I'd got myself into and then found new homes for them.

Harry my 'o' has got wise to them. He sits waiting at front of tank with me and I throw some food to back of tank for the barbs.
When they shoot off, harry just sits and gets his fill from me at the front without any bother.
Must admit when food is about they are absolute hoovers.

If you get frontosas get only 1. I had 2 in one tank and once they got to about 5inches one dominated and the other hid all the time. I have seen a tank in wildwoods in enfield and all the fonts were hiding except one
Good tank mates for oscars are blue acara, firemouths, silver dollars, jags(my one is ok but some can be aggressive apparently), severums, JD( again supposed to be aggressive but my one is ok), port acara, chcoclate cichlid, niguargian, pearl cichlid.

Like idea of blue or port acara. As they only grow to about 6" a few would be a nice addition to my tank. How many could I keep with my oscar in 600L.
Any other ideas for fully grown smaller fish that would make a nice tank with my oscar.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass up:laugh:
You are correct, tinfoil barbs are not the fish for you if you've only got a small aquarium. These are caused a real disturbance when I had them. It's no wonder they've got so many of them over at Aquator
