Hi everyone, I'm new to the site, and I have some questions. I just recently aquired a 100 gal tank that I plan to house my 5 inch tiger and 4 inch Ruby oscar. I have the tank in a spot to where both long sides of the tank are visible, and in doing so am trying to route the return tubes for my canister filters along the top to try to keep it clean looking.

I have 2 Eheim canister filters, a 2215 and a 2213. My question is, can I use 1 intake and return for both filters, and just split the lines close to the filters? Or will this mess with the flowrates and efficiency? My goal in doing so is the reduce the tubing clutter running along the tank.
Thanks in advance for the help.

if you are familiar with the rated flow of it unit, yes you can
but the pipe must be of the next sized, otherwise it will reduce
the efficiency of the two pumps. in some instance, if one is
stronger that the other, the one with lower flow rate will become
useless. it will just be suppress by the stronger one.

one other thing to think about is that you lose your backup filtration possibility.
Running 2 seperate units will give you the advantage of one still running if the other one should fail.
If one motor of a linked system will jam, the whole system could very well shut down.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
