Well I guess this isn't the best place to come for my MTS (multiple tank syndrome) Rehab.

ha ha ha, you had come to a wrong community. people here won't discourage
anyone to acquire more big tanks. instead of curing your craving for more
tanks, the community will push you further and deeper. haven't you
notice, for the love of our fish, we always recommend the ideal tank size for
any single oscar ...

for that tank available, i would not hesitate to drive that far just
to pick it up and keep it running immediately.

This is another one I am considering that is much closer; about 1.5 hour drive. its 140 gallon, but the guy wants 450. If he came down to around 300 I think it may be worth it not to have to drive so far for the 125g. I do want black stand and canopy, but i guess i could paint it if need be.

This one popped up on craiglist today. This one is also only about 1.5 hours away. its a 200 gallon with stand for $200, but no pictures; i emailed the guy for some more info and pics...

As you can see I am pretty well engulfed in the MTS right now. To make matters worse, I got the Okay from the wife today... uh oh . If and/or when I get the big tank, I am going to sell my 55g and 38g tanks to help recoop some of the investment in the large tank. (notice the justification and the supposed logic here ) I will still keep my 60 gallon though.

anyway, thanks for all the support everyone.

Okay Cebo - I'm gonna be a small voice of reason here. The tank in Sacramento is a fan-frickin-tastic deal, but are you really saving anything on the tank with travel time and gas?? Even if you drive a diesel pickup, it's still gonna cost you some $$, plus 11+ hours of your time, which will include food, and by the time you get it home you'll be too exhausted to do anything with it.

If that guy in Medford sends you some good info on the 200gl, I say go for it! A 200gl has more room, for more fish..... heh heh heh
