Anybody used a fluidized sand filter on there tank.

Seen one that connects after your canister filter and is meant to vastly improve bio efficiency.

I have no idea how much it would benefit you. If you check this article out, it seemed to suggest they come into their own when using them on multiple tanks. If this is the case, is it worth going to all the trouble? I really don't know

Got a Lifegard Fluidized Bed Filter (FB 300)tonight for £40.00

You can connect it to a powerhead and it hangs off of the back of the tank. The good thing is it is purley biological and never needs cleaned out like a canister filter. Have to use a hagen powerhead with the quick-clear filter cartridge that also has a 1 micron filter weave. This should help keep water crystal clear as well.

I have two of the filter cartridegs so can change them once a week and clean and alternate them. So always have a biological system running 24-7 that never gets disturbed.

Proof of the pudding will be once I get my new tank up and running so will let you know if it is any good.
