i would love to have a really really big tank . . . .. . but being an estate agent in this kind of money situation funding is a issue.

also if im not able to make a big tank,does anyone no a good website that i could purchase a big tank,wether its broken or dirty or needs work.

Yes, of course you can make a tank, many of our members have done so themselves. However, I'm not in a position to advise you because I have not done it myself. I'm sure somebody like Cris who I think has made his own tank will give you some valuable advice.

I live in England and its cheaper to buy the tank ready made than to buy the glass and make one yourself. The reason for this is that for a tankmaker the glass is an overhead whereas if you buy the glass from a glazier he will want to sell it for a profit. Put simply a tank maker gets paid for making the tank whereas a glazier makes money on selling the glass which can make it cheaper to buy a tank ready made. In effect when buying a ready made tank you get the glass for a wholesale price

for one of these big bad boy tanks,how much cash are we talking do you think?

making a tank is doable but the difficulty of doing it doesn't
compensate the saving cost for a huge tank. any wrong move will
cost you more for glass breakdown.

buying from reputable tank maker is the most logical and practical.
in your case, you can surf at craiglist for a bargain deal.

Glass tanks themselves are not too expensive, i have seen 10ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft for around £500.

I better take that back cos i just looked on AC's site. you would pay £700+ for the cabinet and hood now Penn and still need a tank to put fish in. ((( cost of living has gone mad.

correction marcus its the cost of living in the UK ....American fish keepers have got it easy compared to us..they have it all and for about a third of what we pay... :angry:

about 150-200 gallons is what im lookign for.
i would need a bank loan to afford those prices any time soon
