Hey What's up OFL community. I am excited, I just purchased a new canister to add to my 140Gallon filtration off of Ebay.

Thats a sun sun cebo is it not? I got the 2000 UF its all the same wattage as mine and 9watt UF. I looked for the turn over rate. Mine is at 2000litres an hour.

If it is, its the same as mine and Nicki and necromancer4 has one too.

The only thing I was told that it can be a bit of a handful to get the air lock out. If you have trouble give me a shout and I'll pass on what necro told me.... Jamie

Yup, I believe it is the one you have Jamie. Thats good to know about the "air lock issue", I will keep an eye out for that.

When I fill the cannister cebo I just poured the filter media from my other tank to kick start the BB's until it was full. Its better I think if you pour in some water with NOTHING in it at all. Then put the first tray in and fill that and do this with each of the compartments until it is full to the top. That way you will avoid any air locks in it.
Its just a case of pushing down the big button to prime it until you see water coming out of the outlet pipe.
Just a note, when you have switched it on tilt the cannister from left to right, that way you will expell any trapped air until it has stopped.
If there is any air in it you will hear it gurgle and blowing out the outlet...

Good luck mate....... PS. That filter hardly makes a noise at all.

Thanks Jamie; very informative. I should have the filter by (hopefully) next week. I will give it a go with the steps you outlined.

hmm...never thought the ones on ebay were any good, so I threw all my money in 3 rena's, but now that I knwo they work, I will get a few for my next tank, (300gal)

yea, I only use coarse at the bottom, ceramic bio or bio wheels in the middle, then more bio in the top, and on top of that bio, I have a finer sponge...but I also have ommited the sponge completely on 2 of my filters for more bio room...tank stays awesome!!
