In light of what has been happening in the last couple of days, i.e. idiots posting stupid messages, I would like to remind members of one of our stickies.

If it is obvious that somebody is just being stupid then please do not reply, even if it is just to call them an idiot. As soon as you go back to them they have got what they want, a reaction. Say nothing and one of us will delete the post and deactivate their account.

I think it soon become quite clear he/she was out to mislead and disrupt the site. but in the beginning myself and a few other members were not really sure and some members had made honest replies to help this person. I started to make deletions to the worst of His/her posts, once I was sure it was pure disruption. we get all sorts of people on the site, some have knowledge, some very little and we have had the crazed ones. I didn't intend to stay "on site" for as long as I did, I just popped in to see if there was any urgent posts needed answering. I was in the process of writing a warning on the site info board, but was beaten to it by "pjbeattie81"(thx PJ ) as I was unsure how long this person would remain on site posting rubbish before he/she was removed. I know your always "lurking" Penn, but even you have a life outside OFL.com. very quick response mate )))If anyone does notice deliberate misleading posts there is a "report to Mod" button, bottom right of page. thx to those members that made other members aware the posts were not correct and misleading and also tried to give helpful advice.

Well, all I can say is you must be a psychic Marcus if you know when I'm online when I'm not logged in.

This thread taught me something today... hence the saying you learn something new every day I guess.

I NEVER, EVER noticed the "report to moderator" button !!!!

So if I push that, who actually gets the notice? The different moderators for that category, Penn, or both? Just curious.

The Mods listed for the category, Penn, and myself will get those notices.

simple detective work I have been on when you replied to posts but have not appeared as "on site" now how do you do that. your very dedicated to your site. and so it should be like that. I use a motorcycle site that don't seam to be managed at all. members bad mouth others without any intervention from mods or owner. the way you run your site "The friendly site" is why I come back time and time again. well done.

Me too. The reason i first posted on this site is because it is friendly and doesnt slag people off even if they have made a mistake!!!!!

Unlike a certain other site with a similar but shorter name!!!!!!!
