I've noticed this site is a lot slower than others. I normally use Safari, but I use firefox too and it seem slow on both of them.

My computer is an ibook G4.

I can only apologize to everyone for the site being slow. I am fully aware of it and am trying to do something about the situation. You wouldn't have been aware that, but we switched servers yesterday. I think it's just the forum that is problematic, I'm not actually finding the rest of the site a problem. I'm also working on a new look and hope to implement it very soon.

I would just ask everyone to stick with it, don't give up on us because it's a little slow at times we will get there in the end:cheer: .

I've found the other parts to be slow also...

Might just be my computer.

I've been working very hard to try and speed things up, and hopefully [touth wood]things should improve soon. Unfortunately, this site is absolutely plagued by bots, absolutely loads, and they can slow the site down. I have just put a meta tag in that should stop them from visiting us so often, it might take a few hours, or a few days for it to start working, let's just hope eh. I'm also going to be experiments with a few things this afternoon, so if the site suddenly goes off-line, you'll know why.

you may have also noticed that lots of categories have disappeared off the forum, this was alsop slowing things up, nobody really use them so I hope people don't mind them not being there anymore.

Yeah, noticed the missing sections.

Is it just me, or did the oscar advice section go from around 900 to around 600 threads? Or did it always have about 600? Probably just me...

things are definitely speeding up, I just clicked on th e-mail link and I was here within a second, doesn't normally happen

when things are speeded up a bit, I will probably put the sections back, I'm just experimenting to see how much difference it makes.

Ive had a few problems, saying server error 404, not found or something along them lines. i'll write it down next time and post it. But dont worry i love the site and can live with a few niggals.

thanks very much Marcus. I am giving Oscar Fish love up a major facelift soon,things will look completely different, nothing like they do at the moment, hopefully better. One thing I will be adding is a new photo gallery where you can create your own gallery for your photographs, people will be able to vote and comments on your photographs.anyway, hopefully won't be long

I am actually putting the problem down to DreamHost themselves. I have been testing all my other websites and every single one of them is slow compared to any other website on the Internet. I have otherwebsite that is hosted with another company, for me, it loads so much quicker which proves the hosting company. and it is using the same software as this particular site
