In fact, the race isn't even that close. While Internet Explorer (all versions combined) takes 44 percent of share, Firefox follows with 28 percent, followed by Chrome at 20 percent, with Safari, Opera and others at the bottom. In terms of specific versions, Internet Explorer 8 is the most used, claiming a 28-percent share, compared to Firefox 4.0's 16 percent[/quote

The majority of people use Internet Explorer because it came with their PC. I been using Firefox for probably two or three years now and I really like it, I would never ever go back to Internet Explorer. If I had a load of spare cash and I wasn't saving up for a boat, I would probably replace all my PCs with Mac computers.

Like I said a couple of times before in this thread, I really don't experience this lag some of you are talking about, the website is pretty quick for me.

most common & most popular are 2 different things WylDe Billy.
and most ppl that use IE use it because it comes packaged with Windows.

Internet Explorer has been subjected to many security vulnerabilities and concerns: Much of the spyware, adware, and computer viruses across the Internet are made possible by exploitable bugs and flaws in the security architecture of Internet Explorer, sometimes requiring nothing more than viewing of a malicious web page in order to install themselves. This is known as a "drive-by install". There are also attempts to trick the user into installing malicious software by misrepresenting the software's true purpose in the description section of an ActiveX security alert.

A number of security flaws affecting IE originated not in the browser itself, but ActiveX-based add-ons used by it. Because the add-ons have the same privilege as IE, the flaws can be as critical as browser flaws. This has led to the ActiveX-based architecture being criticized for being fault-prone.

  no, no birthday greetings unfortunately, but I got a nice hefty bill not long ago :-)

In an ideal world we would be on a dedicated server, not a shared server. However, from most just don't stretch to a dedicated server unfortunately, not unless I win the lottery, then I think we may splash out a little bit

i must aggree with billie .

I am hoping this issue works itself out. I think it has to do with the amount of traffic and the shared server maxing out.

Maybe i will try using firefox and see if i notice a differenc.
i have tried every browser in the past, but i always feel like Chrome just is a little faster than the rest.

... oh and like billie said, I know for a fact its not my isp. i don't get the same lag on other forums with the same isp, google chrome, laptop, etc.

i will hang in there like the rest of us. :)

I used Firefox since the start but after Firefox 6 got released it turned into a big steaming pile of crap. So I moved over to Google Chrome and I cant be any happier. The only time I ever used IE is when I download another browser after a fresh install.

Nothing, and that is saying a lot since I am sitting on the ass end of Africa and we aren't exactly known for our amazing speeds and bandwidth down here. We still have capped ADSL lines and even copper based dail-up modems but it has been getting better.

As far as the forum goes, I have never had issues since I joined. Mostly just browser related issues.
