okay, we're going to start a monthly photograph contest for members. Obviously this is any going to work if plenty of people take part. Art has volunteered to control of the contest. To avoid favoritism, I think we need to vote on pictures that we don't actually know who they belong to. I think we could have an Oscar section as well as a section for other fish as well.
We will add an extra section to the forum so everybody knows where to go and vote.
I'll keep you posted if you get this up & running for May, so get your digital cameras out.

I think that is the best way of doing it. If he receives all the images and then posts them in order on each monthly post, people can easily choose the one they like best. I think we should have a cutoff date for submitting and also a start date for voting. If we give people 2 Weeks to submit their photographs, and then two weeks of voting, I think that will be enough.
And I think it would be best to limit one entry per member per month to each category

I was wondering how many categories you would like. For example, Oscars, other South American cichlids, and so on. This may appeal to people who don't necessarily just keep Oscars or cichlids. However I don't want to give Art too much work. I think to be fair, may be limit it to four or five categories.

why not make it a photo contest not a best fish contest. this way you only need one catagory and it could be based on composition, clarity, ect... instead of the breed of fish.
jsut a thought

Yes it will be a best photo competition, rather than best fish. we should be voting on the person's ability to take a really good photo, not how nice their fish is.
