hi folks i cant clear the green post indicators on the catagories page ....i have marked every single topic in every single secion as read ....when i open the individual catagories they are clear ........but the main page still shows loads of unread green indicated posts ....i have tried hundreds of times to mark "all forums as read" but nothing happens ..i have logged out logged in tried 4 servers ...firefox google chrome ie8 ie7 and its still there ????????????????????????? HELP ME AS I CANT TRACK NEW ACTIVITY OR NEW POSTS HERE TILL ITS SORTED .....some are showing over 800 new posts ....and i cant open every section every time i come here .........

Not sure what I can do because I'm not having the same problem. I just checked on one thread that had three new messages, when I came out again, the "new" had disappeared. I suggest that you change browsers and try again. Either that, or clear your cache


When you exit a post, do you use the back button, or do you click on the link at the top of the forum (welcome to the forum)?

That happens to me when i use the backspace button.

i have the same problem as you do bgh. i tried changings browsers to firefox and still have the same problem. i havent been able to figure out how to clear them yet but if by some freak chance i do i will be sure to let you know.

I see what you mean now. It would be interesting to know if everybody else is having the same problem?

In case anyone doesn't know what we're talking about. If you click on "categories" you'll see all the categories as in "the Oscar fish" "water chemistry" etc etc. If you open up the categories you'll see everybody posts and it will show how many posts have been made since he last visited the various threads. This particular section works. However, it is when you are viewing the categories in the main section, the number of posts remains the same.

Anyway I am looking into it and it seems that few people are getting the same problem. I can only suggest that you subscribe to each post so that you are informed by e-mail when anyone makes a new post. I'm well aware that a lot of people don't really like doing this because you get bombarded with e-mails from every thread you subscribe to. However, you can always unsubscribe if you want. This is one reason why I want to make it clear that their problem has been solved. Remember that this is a forum where the majority of categories/forums are for people to ask for help. Threads shouldn't go on for ever, that doesn't help anyone. If your problem is sorted then make it clear.

I'll try my hardest to get this sorted guys but please bear with me

Okay, I just updated the forum to the latest release so let's hope that sorted it, fingers crossed
