at approximately 9:30 PM BST we would be off-line for a few minutes carrying out maintenance on the forum.

Don't worry, it is normal to feel a little bit lost when your favourite website is not available. I suppose it's a little bit like your favourite drinking hole, going somewhere else is not quite the same

The problem with using databases, coding etc, it only takes a semicolon in the code to be in the wrong place and everything falls to pieces.

Edit: I should add that applications are pretty stable nowadays. But when you're dealing with server side technology, there's always something to go wrong.
