welcome to our community

This could possibly be because it albino. There isn't really much you can do apart from taking one of the fish out of the tank and separating them if you are worried. Personally, I would oust the bully

Okay 2 things here...
Penn what happened to identifying these types as Lutinos. Did I catch ya slipping, or do just choose not to get into that conversation every time.
Secondly, it sounds like you are suggesting that albinos or Lutinos aren't as aggressive and get bullied more. Is this a fact? This is something I have thought for quite a while, but never confirmed in any way. Right now that is the case with my "Lutino" O.

They are marketed as albino so I really don't see the point of nitpicking and correcting people every time, if you get my drift

If you think about it, albinism it is a genetic defect and in nature, many creatures would probably be a target. One of our members who hasn't been on the website for about two years was a very experienced breeder of Oscars. Apparently, when he crossbred an albino with another type, all the baby albinos had their eyes pecked out by their siblings that were not albino

As far as the albinism being a genetic defect. That makes a lot of sense. Most animals will attack another that has some defect or something wrong with it. It's a way of nature correcting itself.

I had an albino oscar until he committed suicide and he was never bullied because he was the biggest fish in the tank but he was very peaceful, much more passive than most oscars . So I agree that they are more likely to get bullied.

Not to distract from every ones Lituno Oscars, But I have to tell you that tank is part of your aggression issues...You need to be putting the stock out of the 29 into about a 90 gallon aquarium... The cramped space is going to cause major aggression issues!

BTW... Welcome!
