does anyone no how much more aggresive convits are then jewels cichlids and if the tank is big eough can they go together

convicts are more aggressive than jewels and they are 200% more aggressive if you have a breeding pair of convicts..iv owned a few jewels and they where never really over aggressive

My only experience with a jewel cichlid didn't go well at all. It was VERY mean for such a small fish, and it constantly chased and nipped the back fin of the other fish; leading to splits. I didn't keep the fish very long.

In the right situation I am sure those Jewels would be great, and they get very nice colors at a smaller size. Convicts are cool unless you have a pair then it can get ugly.

I have two jewel cichlids in a community tank with three blue gouramis . I was cleaning the tank and the largest jewel (only 2 - 2.5") decided my arm looked tasty. Gave me a shock and left a small circular welt for a couple of days. Kinda funny really...

If you are going to keep jewels then make sure they are kept with other cichlids and makes sure the jewel is the smallest. They generally only bully smaller fish but this isnt guaranteed.

Convicts are semi-aggressive but an oscar will easily live with them. Dont get a male and a female as they will breed and they will be very aggressive
