If you have got a big enough tank than they can live together okay, after all, they do come from the same parts of the world. Remember that black ghost knife fish are nocturnal so a large tank is really a good idea, the Oscars need some peace and quiet at night.

yeah, that's what they all say...
We need pics, PJ.

if your Photobucket account does work correctly at other occassions, better try again later.
You may have more luck then.
I had the same thing happen last week, it seems to happen from time to time ,since they created the automatic bulk uploader.
Allthough that may not be the problem if you only try to upload one pic at a time.

hey pjbeattie81, we have always had one with our oscar and have never had any problems, oscar doesnt even seem to acknowledge his presence in the tank (which is probably a good thing )

but our oscar has always been solcialised with other fish (since months old) i wouldnt recommend a fish that expensive (assuming your getting a good sized one) to start socialising him if he has been alone or trouble could follow

I've had a BGK for about 4-5 years now & he's about 10". He's just the best fish to watch - swimming backwards & sleeping upside down. I've only just got an Oscar so my guys are still working things out.

One thing with the BGK is to make sure there is a daytime hiding spot. I have a piece of glass leaning up against the back wall of the tank & the BGK goes in behind that to sleep. He thinks he "hiding" but because it's glass I can still see him perfectly (they're effectively blind so he can only "feel" that there are walls around him, he has no real idea that the walls are actually see through.
