Hey, I'm going to put an oscar in my 75 gallon once it has cycled and I was wondering if I could get tank mates for him and if so what would be my best choices?

Id stick with Just the Oscar...but you could add a couple of silver dollars
This will more than likely result in aggression issues from the Oscar tho...its kind of hit and miss

You could add a pleco...Some are strikingly beautiful. AND they go OH NOM NOM NOM NOM

Although you might want to avoid the 'common' plec found in most fish stores unless you want

Well I read up on clown loach. Could that possibly be a good choice?

Do you think that two oscar could live happily in there? I guess with proper filtration in order in the long run.

I got 2 oscars in my 180Gl tank, but i consider it full.
Even if i had no tankmates, i think a fish that big needs some swimmingspace, next to good quality water.
The loaches are a good combo as long as the loaches do not fit in the oscars mouth.
Several members have got the combo, and it looks fabulous.

And indeed religious waterchanges will be needed for a long time
The loaches may live uo to 80 years...

Trust me I take good care of my fish. I don't really like cats or dogs so I spend a good amount of time caring for the fish I have already.

So could I Keep 2 oscar in a 75g, thats my real question! I would rather have 2 oscar than any tank-mate.
I mean of corse in the future I will get them a bigger tank if needed, which will probably be so.

I wouldn't get 2. Once your O gets bigger you'll see he'll fill out that 75 very well all by himself. (Not even to mention the extra water changes and such, although like you, I actually enjoy them) I think 75 is a perfect size for one oscar.

If somewhere down the road you decide on a bigger tank I would go 120 gallons and for 2 oscar's. Besides, I think about it like if I already had a 75 why should I just get the next size up and such? Might as well upgrade significantly if your gonna go through all the hassle and money expenditure...

I woudnt got for 2 oscar. Stick with an oscar and a smaller tankmate that gets to 6 inches (like firemouth or blue acara). Or you could go with some SD's, or 2 or 3 clown loaches. Clown loaches grow slowly(very slowly) but they do get to quite a size so bear in mind that in several years you may need to upgrade
