Good day!

Will an Oscar and a Pangasius catfish (Iridescent shark) be good tankmates?

Thanks.

Paul,where are you?
Paul's been keeping them together with succes, and the pangs have reached an incredible size already.
If your tanksize is suitable for pangasius, i think they could go together well.
How big is your tank, for pangasius can get extremely big!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Thanks Noddy.

Ye. I know that they could get extremely big. Have done a research about them lately. Actually, I can't afford to have them now due to required tank size. I'm just asking for future references, just in case I decide to put it with an Oscar.

By the way, Pangasius is quite popular in pet stores here in the Philippines. Unfortunately, some people who brought them home don't realize how big these fishes could get. I've seen a couple of stunted pangasius kept at small tanks.

For me, unless you've a pond, there is no way you can have enough space for both sutchi catfish and astronotus ocellatus

Turtle lover,

I've seen a pond before with pangasius. They look great on it. Well, let's just see if I could have them someday. Thanks anyway!

sorry! i'm late... my 6 footer tank is shrinking every day... that
is Noddy's terminology....anyway... giving good swimming space and
good feedings... pangs could grew to an imaginable size inside the tank...
to the extent that i control the feedings because my tank really shrink...

may pang is about 28 inches long... and break one side of my tank..
the other is about 26 inches... and oscar which i just transfer to the
other tank is 12, 13 and 14 inches... (option to breeding)

now... what i do have in my 230 gal tank... an aro 18 inches long;
28 and 26 inches long pangasius... 10,8 and 6 inches tilapia,,,,
and i'm having a hard time to cope with waste... pang can make the tank
cloudy in just one waste release...

Paul, I'll give up pangasius for now due to required tank size.
