I bought three youngsters as jade blue-eyed cichlids at the LFS, however I don't know what they really are.

Could you help me ID these guys?

Ummmm...don't think they are Jade eyed cichlids, the body shape doesn't look quite right to me. I could be wrong though, there are various types I believe. I have got a fish that I believe is called a false Jade eyed cichlid and the shape is quite different to yours. Could you possibly take a photograph a little bit closer. The dorsal fin on your walls looks a little bit different to a jade eyed Cichlid. I'm really not sure, I believe that a female can sometimes have black markings in little bit like a convict yours have got black bars. if they are very young, they often change as they get older.

Here's a closer pic. The head is different than Kenyi, also the tail has no stripes. Hope you can help me ID these guys so I can provide them with propper tank settings. I'm not taking them back to the LFS.
So far they get along with Moon (the Oscar) but unless they are compatible, keeping them together is likely a disaster waiting to happen.
Thanks

I'm really not sure, are you sure it's not an African Cichlid?, does look like one to me but I don't confess to be a Cichlid expert.

I keep many African cichlids, and the pic you posted of the cichlid you have is deffinatly a African cichlid. It looks a bit like a female kenyi but has more stripes than them. I am not sure of the exact type, but I can tell you that it is definatly an African cichlid, specificly a Malawi mbuna. There are so many different types of Mbunas, it could also be a hybrid of two different speices, but I can tell you for sure it is not a new world cichlid. You can to go to the cichlid-forum and talk to them to get a postitive ID on it.

I am thinking you are right, a female kenyii, the stripes just looked a little off to me, but other than that, that is the closest guess I can think of.

Pretty sure it is a peacock cichlid (african)

Quite common in most petshops...in Brisbane anyway.

Ok, so I in order to provide good care to these cichlids, should I follow suggestions for Kenyi?

Update: I got a suitable tankmate for the Tiguer Oscar, a 5" Green Severum (left it at the LFS). My 145gal is home, on its third day of fishless-cycling.

A few questions:
I have seen some videos/posts of people keeping Oscars with non-so-aggressive African Cichlids. What do you think of that?
Would Blue Dolphin or Frontosa be advisable? (Of course a plan B must be at hand).

Would a small school of five Tinfoil Barbs be suitable (considering 121 UKgal tank) to keep with one Oscar and one Green Severum? Or would I be asking for trouble in terms of tank parameteres?

Thank you
Pepe
