I have a Blood Parrot and an Oscar in the same 75 Gal Tank and they get along very well. I have on occasion seen the oscar and parrot go head-to-head and the parrot is quite the match for my Red Oscar.

Keeping fish in captivity isn't always as straightforward as people think, some people would like you think it is, but it definitely is not. You'll find that some people will have serious problems keeping the sorts of fish you've got together. However, in your case, it seems to work. So really at the end of the day a lot of this information that we spend hours adding to our websites could seem totally erroneous to some people. However, we do have to try and warn people of what could happen, it's up to them to take the risk, in your case it seems to have worked out.

Make sure you put some small food in for the parrot as they can have difficulty eating food with their deformed mouths, especially with a greedy oscar around
