the biggest problem with pellets and wafers im having is even at night when the lights are off my oscar will eat them befor they can make it to the bottom for the knife and catfish anyone have any advice id appreciate it

Both catfish and knife fish are nocturnal, i.e. they are active at night. I would suggest that you turn the lights out so the whole tank is in darkness, give the Oscars time to settle down, it won't take very long, you can then put the food in for the other fish. The trick is to make sure the whole tank is in darkness, this will probably mean turning the room lights off as well.

i had the same problem. my oscar would chew up algie wafers then spit them out. the best way i found was to make the room dark like ofl suggested and you can actually see your oscar "sleeping"..ie...he will just be sat in the same place for ages. this took my oscar about 30-60 minites and then put them in.
what does not kill me makes me stronger
