well i am starting again with my ish and will be getting a 6x2x2 tank within the next month..hopefully:).

i was thinking of having 2 oscars and a couple clown loaches and maybe a couple other fish but wasnt sure of what i could keep in there with those fish.

also i was thinking of a setup with 1 oscar and havin a few different fish. i want ones that grow to a good size but not as big as oscars do, and maybe ones that might breed as i never had breeding fish before. i would be getting my oscar as an infant so he will only be about 2 inch but could buy the other fish bigger so they dont get eaton.

what do you guys think would make my tank look best in your opinions? ow i plan on blacking out the back and having light sand with dark bogwood.

texas cichlids grow to be a little smaller than oscars. so do sevs,jacks,some species of catfish and convicts. the list is huge and if you get them all as juveniles they will all have a better cahnce of getting along.
sorry to hear your getting rid of your red oscar. he is a good looking fish.

also a light coloured substrate will wash out the colour of your fish. a darker sub will bring out their colours. something to think about

well for the substarte i was thinking black but then i thought there might be to much black lol, i will have a look at pictures on the net and see what i will like. im now going to look at some of those fish you just put as im not sure what some look like:). you gotta love google:)

Texas cichlids get very big, they can also be very aggressive so I would not put one of these in your tank with other semi-aggressive fish.

I would advise you to forget the tinfoil barbs. These fish like to be in groups, they can grow to 12 inches and eat shed loads of food. They are very skittish fish that are spooked very easily. The rest of the fish you have listed are great. In fact, I've got a few of them myself

yes i was thinking of not getting those and the silver dollars. would the rest fit in my tank with 1 oscar? i think the tank will be about 580 litres

not to disagree with the boss but texas cichlids(Herichthys cyanoguttatus) grows to about 10-12 inches in lengh and are a little overrated on the aggression scale. however all fish have their own personalities and some are more aggressive than others.

i agree with you there. you definelty dont want a 18 inch jag in your tank with an oscar or anything else really. i think they rate up there near the dovii for aggresiveness especially when spawning.

will all these together fit in a 6x2x2 tank?
