starting them together in tandem will be fine.
but tank size has to be considered. how big is
your tank?

both are good food graber but pacu grows faster
than oscar (based on my experienced)

I only keep 6 oscars w/ out a tank mate.
As long you know the size of a pacu.

your pacu and oscar grows slowly because they are overcrowded
in your tank. there is a danger in your set up.... once you got
ammonia & nitrate spike.... you will be in trouble. i hope you keep
water change regularly. my pacu grows to 16 inches in 18 months at 55
gal tank with an oscar 12 inches long.

well from what i have read you are seriously overstocked right now and unfortunetly things wont change that much after you get 150 gallon tank.

my advice would be to rehome the pacus and let the rest of your fish stock grow properly in the larger tank. as well you should look into some very serious filtration for your new 150. something like a couple of serious cannisters to handle the bioload.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

theres absolutely no way you can fit all those fish in a 55 gallon. let alone keep water levels decent.

This MUST be a typo, You cannot possibly have a 55 gallon stocked this heavily. The poor fish have no room to move, let alone swim. I have a 180uk gallon filtered by two Fluval FX5's and would not stock that amount of fish in that, so the 150 you are getting will be too small as well.
180 UK gallon - Central American Cichlids
75 UK gallon - South American Cichlids
30 UK gallon - South American community
25 UK gallon - Hospital/ Quarantine Tank.
