since ive been a member here i have answered many questions on what might be a suitable tankmate for oscars so i thought why not tell others what we keep in our tanks and maybe this can help newcommers to decide what to put in their's.
i guess i'll start
i have 4 tanks:
the first is 150 imp gallons and in it are 2 mature oscars, 2 jack dempseys, 1 geophagus dicrozoster(i think), 1 chinese algea eater, and 2 convict hybrids.
the second is 190 imp gallons and in it i have 3 juvenile oscars(3-10 inches), 4 firemouths, 3 pictus catfish, 2 albino coreys, 1 blue acara, and 1 rainbow shark
the third is a 90 imp gallon growout tank with a pair of jaguars cichlids in it
the fourth is a 45 imp gallon african tank with assorted malawis in it

when he was in the tank with my albino he was a real turd. constantly harrassing my poor oscar until the oscar was laying flat at the top of the tank hidden in some plants. now hes with my mature oscars and i have yet to have a problem with him. so far things are peaceful(for a cichlid tank) and i hope to have it continue.

Good idea. I have 150g tank 2 x oscars 1 x parrot 5 x clown loach 3 of these are 3" so not to over crowd and 1 x 9" plec. take care if you add a plec some can become monsters. I love the clowns more than anything, one of mine is 8" and around 7yrs old, thats a slow growth rate so I dont need a new tank too soon.)))

Well nothing at the moment. We have just purchased a new home on the NSW coast near Lake Macquarie from 5 hours inland.
43 US Gallon (168l) 4' tank currently cycled and ready to accept 4 juvenile O's as of tomorrow.
There are 3 UGF lining the bottom and a 1200l/h internal doing it thing within.
#2 is a 30 US Gallon (113l) 2 1/2 foot tank currently 1 week into cycling and used as a seperation / hospital tank.
After consulting with the powers that be (aka The Wife) I have decided to take the advice of the forum and start off with 4 juvenile fish. A Tiger, Red, Albino and a Longfin. Previously we only had 1 tiger in the 4' tank. I have had him for 5 years but decided to leave him inland as he probably wouldn't survive the trip.
I have plans for a 6' tank or possibly an 8'. This depends on budget and materials available. If I can get the glass I'll build an 8 but will probably only be able to get 6' glass at this early stage.
Watch this space while I re-establish my aquaria.

I have a 620 litre (136 uk gallon)
Aqua One Aquience Bow Front 1800B Aquarium
its being cycled at the moment, but eventually i will have my 2 tiger oscars, 2 albino oscars which im going to buy soon, and maybe 2 Geophagus if i can find some really nice ones.
i also have a pleco but i doubt he'll be going in there due to him growing so quick and totally messing with my bio load.
do you think 4 oscars and maybe 2 geophagus will be ok for a 620 litre tank?

2 Tiger Oscars, 1 Lutino Oscar, 1 Jack Dempsey, 3 Clown Loaches, 1 Blue Phantom Pleco.
