Would an arowana be alright in a 675 US GAL tank with a couple oscars??
The tank is 11 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet. With MONSTER filtration, good oxygenation, and a couple other tank mates.

I'll be happy to give any more details if needed.

Couldn't say this very clearly in the title but the question is mostly for MNielsen but I'm open to anyone who can help.
Thank you for your time:)

I have a newly big tank of 300Gallons with 2 Oscars at around 8inches and a Silver Arowana and all are doing great and with that tank you have more than enough room and with monster filtration you said you're good to go way it sounds to me! Get some pics once you get it done! Love to see it

It will depend on what you call a couple of tank mates. your size tank with 2 oscars and a arowana would be fine. your tank mates would need to be very large if to survive so your maintenance would also need to be considered. if you dont mind water changes you could add to this, but if you dont want maintenance dont add more. i dont think I need to tell you the size of the fish you mention can grow very large but a 11ft tank isnt that big once the Arowana reach 3ft. but as for them getting on, the arowana wont eat large oscars.

If you can maintain it i would consider 2 arowanas plus 2 oscars.

675 gallon tank can handle well more then 2 arowanas and 2 oscars...... ive heard of oscars going after arowanas and killing them, but being that you have such a large tank, the oscars wont feel pressured to claim their territory as much. and arowanas are quite gentle from what i hear.

what size arowana are you talking about. if its a small fish 12" then yes you could add more but then if you are talking about a fish 3ft x 2, plus 2 x oscars 12-14" thats another 2ft of fish. 8 ft of fish in a 11ft tank will mean a lot of water changes, and after all thats the main thing that governs how many. 200g water changes will send the poor man mad. plus the cost of heating it, treating the new water. Lastly if he dose add many small fish hes faced with what to do later when they reach full size. i cant and wont pass on my fish cos they grow large so aim to cope later on when things are at there worst. why grow a fish to give away or sell. I considered a monster tank 12ftx6x? but decided against for these reasons. it plays on my mind still and may be one day I will commit, if I did I would add just 2 red Arowana for maintenance reasons.

PS I have a good idea about maintenance on a large pond. My pond was so large the local council contacted me to declare that i must inform the local fire bridge that a natral water source was at hand. (my pond)
