As everyone knows oscar's are messy. So I'm looking for some advice on what kind of bottom feeder to get. My oscar's are about 5 inches and very aggressive.

My advice would be to buy a fish because you like it, not just to clean up any mess. They are not miracle workers, whatever fish you have, you are still going to have to carry out maintenance. A really good filtration system coupled with using sand in your tank will remove a lot of waste.

However, one fish that I've got is the Juripari, also known as the earth eater. They having gained his name for nothing, they excavate the sand picking out anything that takes their fancy. They grow to around 10 inches and are very good tank mates for Oscars. They like to be in groups so don't just get one.

Having said all this, have you got a suitable tank to house these fish?

remember, what ever comes in goes out... so even if the bottom feeder eats your oscars scraps, he's gunna poop it all out. honestly, i would just buy another filter with the intake tube placed near the bottom.

cheers,

I'm actually upgrading to a bigger tank anyways. So i may just save the money on another fish and buy a really good filter. Thanks guys for the advice. I'm pretty new the raising fish.

set up of filtering pump and creation of water current
inside your tank help to eliminate those waste and left
over foods. in my case, i was able to make one directional
water current so that all dirt will go to the suction point
of my pump, deliver them to the filtering media, and return
back the water to the tank clean. no mess around at the bottom
