You've got to be a little bit careful with cichlids when mixing them, especially with Oscars. Obviously I've not kept every Cichlid that is out there. However, the two cichlids I would recommend as being excellent tank mates for Oscars are the Severum and the blue Acara. They can both be a little bit bullish towards other fish, but if they are in the same tank as an Oscar, the Oscar is definitely the boss of the tank.
I would always advise mixing fish from the same part of the world.. I have got some clown Loach in with a couple of Oscars in a 125 gallon tank and it works beautifully but I do prefer to keep Oscars with the other South American fish.

So do you think 2 oscars, 1 jack dempsey and a few clown loaches with be ok?
when i say a few, maybe 3?
i have a 136 uk gallon with 2 tetratec 1200 so i doubt the bio load will be a problem.

you must remember that clown Loach like being in groups,so I would advise keeping no less than three. Now you got the problem of finding ones that are big enough to put in with an Oscar. Clowns Are not cheap fish, even for very small ones. From my experience, it's also very rare to come across big ones. I managed to purchase a couple of 6 inch clowns about three years ago. Then I took the risk of getting some very small ones which have now grown to around four inches and my Oscars don't bother with them. even though they take quite a few years, they can reach 12 inches. Mind you, I think you be looking at over 10 years for them to reach anywhere near this. They can also live for a very very long time so if you do get some, expect to have them for many years.
If I was in your position, I would just have the Oscars and the clout Loach, that so I've got and my water conditions are just about controllable at the end of the week. Meaning that nitrate levels are around 30 ppm. If you put too many more fish in, your nitrate levels will be quite high and you shouldn't really have to do more than one water change a week on a sensibly stocked tank

jacks are not overly messy fish. nothing near the same as oscars. i have had mixed results with the two i have in my oscar tank. with the larger oscars the male jack doesnt bother with them but when he was in with the smaller oscars he constantly attacked my albino. so i would say you will have to monitor the situation carefully when you introduce a jack to your tank.
as for other cichlids for an oscar tank i have fairly recently added a rokteil severum and a geophagus with good results. it has been about a month since the last addition and so far things are going quite well.
