If your tank is six-foot by 2 feet by 2 feet then it is big enough for two Oscars and a few tankmates. I give advice as I find it. Some people don't agree with me, quite frankly, I don't really care, if I have tried it and it works, then I would advise such things whatever people might think.

As for the pleco's, there are absolutely hundreds. And I don't claim to be an expert by any means. If I was you, I would go and find a website dedicated to these fish. All I can say is the majority of the ones that you find in the shops, the cheaper ones, grow very big indeed. The very colourful ones can be very expensive. Some of them only reach eight or 9 inches and some of them only reach 5 inches. In my opinion, you must research pleco's to make sure that you don't end up with something that is going to grow so big, you end up having a problem finding a home for it.

There is one called bristle nose catfish that only reaches around 5 inches. These are some of the best cleaners around apparently. However, don't buy one just to clean the algae off your glass, buy one because you like them.

Just a quick search on Google and this was the first one in the list. Haven't looked at it, but it looks the business.

good afternoon, yes I live in australia beautiful country, I just went to show my mum the clown pleco and she pointed out it only gets to 8 cm, I assume this will be a problem?. aslo I have heard of a striped climbing perch, just wondering what you think it would be like in a small comunity. I feed live fish every once in a while mainly live off of pellets and blood worm.

8 cm is a smidgen over 3 inches and I would put in with my Oscars. However, I know my Oscars and I have never known them to try and eat a smaller fish. Mind you, I have never fed them live food so they probably don't associate small fish with food. There is of course instinct and every predatory fish whether it has had live food or not will and can eat small fish easily. I have got a couple of 2 inch Clown Loach and my Oscars pay absolutely no attention to them whatsoever. Anyway, before people start criticising me, I am not going to tell you that it's okay, it would be up to you to decide whether or not you want to take the risk. Now, if you decided you would want to put one in, you would have to find one that is fully grown. Most shops would probably sell them from the juvenile size. I'm not familiar with Clown pleco's so I couldn't honestly tell you how long they take to grow, it could be a very long time so putting a very small one in would be very unadvisable.

As for striped climbing perch, never heard of them. I have however heard of the climbing perch and I believe they could reach around 10 inches So this would be okay with your Oscar.
