To be on the safe side you should get a bigger pleco, dont put a bristle nose in the tank ,your oscar will eat it they move with lots of little jerks which will attract the oscar to them plus they grow to slow , you might find it hard to find a clown pleco and if you do it will cost a arm and a leg,Im in australia also and the larger plecos at full size are worth a few hundred $, here are a couple i know do good in with oscars and easy to find~ chocolate pleco, plecostomus or gibbiceps ,the choc being the cheapest ,it croaks like a frog when its out of water, the gibbis are the most attractive with large fins, they all grow inbetween 20cm to 30cm and are all armor plated so are easy to look after, they say if you kill a plecostmus you have a really big prob with the water in your tank, one about 5 to 10cm should cost around $40 to $60 but when there 20cm and up you will be looking at $150 + and there hard to find when their that big, you only need 1 to keep your tank clean, their an oscars best friend cleaning up after them.i hope i could help.:)

hey there, I found a bristlenose pleco thats reasonable size for 35 bucks, my oscars are still small, the pleco is bigger then they are, would it be ok, or do you mean whn the oscars are full size it would eat the pleco if it was full size too?

No, get something reasonably big because the Oscars will grow very quickly

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

The chocolate pleco is owned by a friend she owns 3 large oscars and they leave it alone ,she just bought the pleco 2 weeks ago its about 17cm and payed $100 her tank was spotless in 1 day, you wont need one this big maybe10cm that gives it a little time to grow as they do grow fast but not as fast as oscars, most fish shops sell them if not order one in.....Good luck and happy pleco hunting:)
