Hi there,
I have got a 6' tank (125g) with an 8" oscar (Rex), 7 clown loaches, 6 silver dollars and a couple of angel fish.
I know the clowns will get quite large in time (they are currently only avout 5" long) - but do you think
a) if I got another small oscar, then Rex would eat it?
b) my tank would actually support another oscar?

I would have thought you are at max now. Whats your nitrates like and maintenance? another oscar will generate a lot more mess. as for eating a new comer that would be down to the size of a new fish. anything around 4" should be ok as you have 5" clowns that are fine. if you added a baby O its very likely to become food. I am always surprised at how much mess our O's make and I think this is your main concern.

i agree with marcus. from your stock list i would have to say that you are at your limit for fish. even if you could stay on top of the maintenance it would come down to aggression and lack of space.

i say the overstock police would be after you if you got another oscar...........i say no way

thanks for responces everyone... not much surprises really - was just a thought.

btw - nitrates in the tank only every get about 40 (at the most) and I do about 40% water change every 2 - 3 weeks
