Just got a new pleco for my tank. My albino red oscar is scared to death of him. haha. He wont even get close to the pleco(albino bristle nose). Hopefully that means they will get along well. I bought the pleco because he is a bit larger than the oscar at this point. (pleco: 3 in oscar:1.5 in) Hopefully the oscar wont turn on the pleco when he gets larger.

You think yours is a sissy? I have two oscars that are breeding and yet seem to have made pets of two goldfish that I gave them as a treat back in October! These goldfish have been there so long they wised up and now huddle with my blood parrots. The parrots have tired to eat the goldfish but their mouths are too small.

yes... it is true, contracdicting the notion that oscars are aggressive. in my case, i have an angel fish that grows 5 inches body wide now, while the oscars are 15 inches long.

parrots are known to be fin nipper. although they have small mouth, they used to attacked and nipped the fins and scale of their tank mates.

personally I have no problem, I find it funny. They did eat goldfish the moment I put them in when they were younger. I am assuming that I went too long between treating them and they forgot how yummy goldfish are. Either that or I put too many in at one time. I did add more than ususal that time because the oscars would gobble 3 at a time quickly and not leave any for the other fish. The two that are still living are too big for all the fish in the tank except the oscars.

from my experience i found that oscars are among the least aggressive cichlids out there(i know not all fish are the same and some oscar can be downright nasty). there main advantage comes from their size and this is a great deterent when it comes to housing them with other cichlids. but oscars arent the aggressive monsters that some people think they are. i often refer to my oscars as gentle giants.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all
