went to the store the other day. guy inside said he was housing red belly pacus with his o. this is a bad setup?? doesnt seem like theyd get along to well?? and they were not even half the size of his o. told him thats a pretty expencive meal for him. unless he treated his o like royalty?? was i right in saying this?

pacus can get about 2-3 feet long... they're fine tank-mates... assuming you have a 500+ gallon tank to house them in.

he had a 50US gal. said he was new to fish. told him that the o would need more room before he should look into more fish. ill probably never see him again. just hope hes taking care of his o.

actually, you could have red belly pacu and oscar in a
75 gal tank for 8 to 10 months. however, pacu grows as
fast as oscar, thus you need bigger tank after a year.
if raise together, they are both gentle and compete with
foods fairly. i have done it until i sold them separately.

like the guys said, shouldn't be a problem housing them together as long as the tank is big enough for them all.
