hey,

i want to know if i my expect heavy fighting between a. nigrofasciata and oscar?
i'm looking for a new tank"mate" but do not want to creat a fight arena in my tank.

You can keep them together (one of each) if your tank is large enough as fax mschooty asks, but do not get a breeding pair of Convicts (a. nigrofasciata). A breeding pair is very aggressive and have been known to kill full grown oscars.

1m50cm (4ft ?) after christmas it will be a 2m (6ft ?)

you're tank is only big enough for the oscar if you want tank mats you should wait until you get the bigger tank because adding one now will only end in bloodshed

Hello. 1.5 m = 5 feet, in which case you might be ok to add the small tank mate now, though could still run into some aggression issues.

2m = 6.5 feet, which is of course better. Have you considered getting a second oscar for your 2m tank? Is doable in a tank that long.

sorry i read that wrong i thought you meant 1 meter long 50 centimeters wide my bad :blush:

but out of curiosity what is the height and width

1.5 meter long, 45 cm high, 40 cm width

the first 3 days i had 2 oscars buth i did one away because they were heavy fighting.
the one who stayed seems unhappy now, he is pale and you never see hem onley for diner.
my water parameters have not changed, but I need to buy liquid test.
There is an topic about "feelings ??" i posted because I fear for loneliness.

ya i would say you can try a tank mate like a convict of course when dealing with cichlids it's never guaranteed that they will get along but you can try
