I've had 4 normal male JDS and they were all big softies but I brought them up with mollies, a lot of JDS are cave guarders and some can be very aggressive but that's the same with Oscars mine have always been soft but I've seen some mean Oscars. I guess it depends on the eviroment, water quality, temperant and tankmates. I also think if you feed feeder fish than you are encouraging aggression. I think a JD and Oscar combo looks good but like mentioned you may have to separate or shop around and get fish that are less aggressive.

My 4males were together no issues but I had a huge tank I only split them as had to demolish tank, I regret rehoming 3 of them.

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

I have a 7" oscar 3" ebjd and newest addition 1.5" jd together. All have been introduced to the tank as jus after a quarantine period. My ebjd is growing strong with no issues to date (knock on wood)

Lol of course I expected that after I sent the pics - they are currently in a 90g tank and I will be upgrading to a 125g in the very near future. I have another 90g that's cycled and ready if I have to remove any fish before the upgrade. Thanks for caring enough about fish to ask ;)

Lol just asking because ebjd can be sensitive to water quality but looks like you have it taken care of. Lots of luck ....lets see some close ups of the ebjd !

Looks good. Welcome to OFL. Nice plan for upgrading as well.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.
