Forget peacocks cichlids or arowana, you just don't have enough space. A single Jack Dempsey would be okay. Alternatively, there are some catfish you could introduce, maybe a few pictus catfish as these will stick together in small groups and will stay at the bottom of the tank.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

What size tank would require me to build if I where to have my Oscar one other large cichlid and a few other small fish I orderd enough aquarium glass to make a 175g or larger I orderd 5 sheets of 96″ x 24″ x 20″ for a decent price from a custom glass shop around the corner from me I used to make tanks all the time but never for myself this will be the first time I actually have the room to make a nice size tank.the only reason I was gunna make a smaller one was to make a bigger tank for my assorted python but instead of stocking my 75g again I can just make a bigger aquarium and put him in there buy lmk thanks for the replies

I'd say the same thing I was once told. Build the biggest tank you can fit and maintain.

What's the PH and Hardness (GH) of your water. That will determine the best group of fish for your tank.

I will be setting up 120 gallon tank in 8 days (so excited) I have Isaiah (Tiger Oscar) and Daniel (Zebra Oscar) and a Plecostomus. My daughter REALLY wants a Jack Dempsey. Is my tank big enough to add him. I do not want unhappy aquarium puppies. Thanks for your help

like penn said, some of those fish are just too big.

one idea besided africans. is going central american cichlids. i have enjoyed them in the past. lots of variety and very nice colors. ... you can check out vids of my past CA cichlid tank if you want.

cheers.
