Not sure where to put this one , but I want to try cloning crayfish. Food/tankmates/tank set up? Ive been considering building a jungle gym of PVC and fake plants to hide crayfish in my 125g with green terror(male or pair pending breeding).
I know cichlids eat crayfish but with plenty of hiding places could work to give my fishies snacks and tank mates at the same time?

Wont know until you try. Only concern I would have is all the hides for the crayfish would be more area for waste to gather, and a pain in the butt to clean. Decent sized crays may thrive, as Terrors dont have the big yap of say an Oscar. GT may just kill them for sport though? Just guessing. You go ahead, report your results.

I received 3 2-3" marbled crays and they seem to be surviving. I have stacks of PVC pipes and fake plants to hide the PVC. I also ordered more plants for more cover.

Dude, let me know how this works out! I've been dying to add some sort of shrimp to my oscar aquarium, but I don't know if he'll eat them all before they had the chance to breed!

My biggest green terror is still pretty small, I don't think anything can eat them.

Just found this site. The last one is an Oscar in with a 55g with them.

Beautiful! Sometimes I look at my Albino Oscar after being on Cichlid forums and realize, I have an ugly fish....

After 2 weeks the crays are still alive, they usually all hide. Overall they seemed to be doing well-ish. 1 of the crays is missing a claw and several legs, another is missing an antenna. Hopefully everyone hangs in long enough for a batch of babies and I'll have more to post.

EDIT: the corners of the tank with the piles of PVC collect debris.

4-19 update: I've since centered the pvc and changed water flow to help with debris. it moves with water changes to help as well. I rarely see a crayfish, last big renovation I only noticed 2. Crays are growing but no berries yet-well that ive seen.
