FOR 3 YEARS I HAVE HAD A OSCAR AND A PLECOS IN MY TANK ,FOR SOME REASON MY PLECOS HAS PASSED AWAY ,FREINDS ARE POINTING THE FINGER AT ME FOR NOT GIVING IT THE PROPER DIET.I USED TO GIVE HIM ALGIE WAFERS AND MAINTAINED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD LIVING .OSCAR WAS ALWAYS ATTACKING HIM WHEN HE GOT THE CHANCE ,COULD THIS HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO HS DEATH.SORRY FOR ANY SPELLING MISTAKES.I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE INCASE OSCAR IS IN THE SAME DANGERS.

It's hard to say, how old was your pleco? Stress could have helped kill him. Do you check your water, if you do give us the stats please and we will be of more help. If your Oscar was always attacking him the chances are pretty good he finally did him in. Please post your water stats and we can advise you from there.
Also please use lower case letters, capitals mean you are shouting Thank you

And allways provide shelter for Plecos in an oscartank, so if the oscar wants to be bad, the pleco can hide.
How big is your Oscar and how big was the Pleco?

it will take time and a lot of bullying before oscar could kill
a plec. plec has sturdy and sharp scales. i suggest you give your
water a thorough test to keep the oscar safe. there might be some
issue that need attention. you could have noticed if bullying becomes
to much for the plec to die.

My Oscar has 4 plecos in his tank, from2,5" to10"+, and there's never any trouble.
My plecos go up the frontwindow sideways and just bash the Oscar away.
Oscar will be close to the plecos but seems to be aware of the spines and thorns.

really hard to say if the O helped kill the pleco, but im sure the O alone could'nt kill the pleco without the pleco detering it with spines etc.... althou if the pleco developed a health issue stress from being attacked would have almost definatly contributed to its death

just a thought..have you medicated the tank recently? Plecos are invertebrates and they produce slime that protects there outer surface from water variables. when you test if your ammonia, and nitrates are high and off the charts, your Pleco could be putting alot of bioload into the tank. Bad for your Oscar. do a 50% water change immediately..right boss
