Hello,
I went to the Utaka LFS in Amersfoort-Holland and found my new fish there!
It's a Vieja Synspilum Female of 9,5",just as big as my oscar and my oscar is finally swimming round again instead of just hiding all day.
He did that since my green Sunfish died a couple of weeks ago.

This substrate spawner is known for it's extreme coloration and is a favorite among fish keepers. The male will develop a forehead hump and is heavier and larger than the female. The female will reach 12 inches in size. For best coloration, feed a variety of veggie based foods. Stock a compatible pair if more than one is desired in the aquarium to avoid aggression issues.

hey Sins, the way you describe vieja, it is what we call
flowerhorn here in manila.

There were some flowerhorns in the same tank i think and the owner could see difference, i hardly could.
Yesterday when I went to bed my last thought was, this is what i wanted out of my tank!All the fish interacting and swimming, including my Plecos and Gar.
Got the Star-Trek LED lighting going and was TOTALLY SATISFIED.
U know how we're allways thinking about changing, adding etc.
I'm just enjoying BIG TIME now!

No, I don't drink but sit there with the ashtray next to me and my Bull-Terrier allways joins me on the couch!

vieja are a pure breed of fish whereas flowerhorns are a hybrid of many different types. i know that flowerhorns are created by crossing viejas texas midas and a few other species.

How long have you been keeping fish Necro? You know so much about so many different ones.
