I picked one up on an impulse buy last night and now that I have read a little about him I am having worry's about my long finned oscar (Spike). Any info or opinions on this fish would be great. He is about 6 inches long. Thanks

Leporinus are just fantastic fish. I have got one around 9-10 inches (honestly, I'm not bragging)

They don't show any aggression to other fish apart from maybe chasing them momentarily. I read somewhere that they can be fin nippers, I can't honestly say I have had that problem with mine. All in all, fantastic tank mates for any fish. Their mouths are very small so will only be able to eat only tiny little fish so won't pose any risk. They don't take food from the surface, only normally from the bottom, they love small pellets, bloodworm, kril.

I found them to be very skittish fish that are spooked very easily so no sudden movements when they are close to the front of the tank.

Cool, Thanks OFL I will keep all that in mind. I will have to watch him with the long fin to make sure but it sounds like he will be just fine

I had to look it up, it's a pretty fish I saw 2 or 3 people say that it's a jumper so keep the lid on tight

not only jumper but a good hide and seek player.
they can slip-in even to the thinnest gap or slot
in a driftwood.

I don't know what lexan is but as long as it's closed it should be ok. If you're worried you can put a rock on top LOL
