My parrot cichlid seems to like rubbing itself on my Oscar, he isnt biting or anything, he just follows this one oscar and rubs himself on him. Its really weird i have other tank mates but he only seems to be following this one type oscar. Should i separate them?

if there is no bullying and oscar allows the rubbing,
what is the point of separation. leave them alone and watch.
who knows, you may be the first to cross breed such specie.

This is the first time i heard such thing. Since both of these fish recognize their masters and greet them, if u could could cross breed a specie, it could be amazing.
Please keep us posted

as far i know oscars dont cross breed with other species. i personally dont know of anyone who has an oscar hybrid nor have i ever heard of one on any of the forums that i frequent.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

according to the breeder in my place... it is possible to crossbreed oscar
with other cichlid. the only problem is, it requires dedication and the male
of other specie had to be sacrificed. once the egg had been laid, remove
immediately and force squeezed the other cichlid male to fertilized the eggs.
that is the only way to crossbreed the oscar. the problem is..he doesnb't
know what to call the offspring. and they are susceptible to diseases.
