I am setting up a 220 gal tank for three oscars. I also like plecos and I have a common pleco, an adonis pleco, and a marble sailfin pleco. I would like to add another pleco to the aquarium once it is running for a while but Im not sure what would grow big enough to be happy with the oscars? I realize that I do not need more plecos but I do like them and will make sure the get lots of food (my albino oscar seems to always eat their algae pellets though). Could someone suggest which plecos grow to be large other than the ones I already have? I understand that the gold nugget and mango plecos might be too small once the oscars get big.

There are absolutely lots of different species of plecs. The obvious would be common and Sail Fin, these can exceed 12 inches quite easily. You might be wise to visit plecofanatics.com as they are dedicated website to these species of fish. I personally do not keep them because some of them get too big, and others are too small to keep with Oscars. They are also nocturnal which is another reason I don't favor them.

I did have some bristlenose catfish once which I thought would be ok with my Oscars, unfortunately the little buggers ate Them.

It is a little bit difficult with these fish, sometimes they're either too big, or too small. I know some of them don't get any bigger than 8 inches, these would be okay, however some of them are incredibly expensive.

I had acouple of pleqs that top out at about 12" they were beutiful fish, but didn't like the mess they make or the fact that they bit My O's in there sleep.
But they are about the size your after and colouration was nice, cant remember the common name, but there number was LOO1.

uhh... i have a walmart type pleco lol... common i suppose. 13 months hes grown from 2" to 12". no telling how big it will be before it stops growing.

from the time plecs became a menace in my place, i started to hate

I got several plecos, but never met anyone owning a A.Adonis and a silfin, looking for more?
I may be wrong but the Adonis pleco is one of the biggest around, can reach more than 3'.
A sailfin can reach 2 '.I want to see pictures!
My personal favorite is Pseudacanthicus, the L65 is the only pseuda that stays smaller,about 8". Very laidback fish.
