Went to the fish store yesterday to pick up my reserved Banded Leporinus. Can these guys jump. As they were trying to get out of the tank, the bloody thing shot out of the top of the tank like an Exocet missile. Luckily, the tank wasn't very far off the ground. The fish spent all last night exactly the same position behind a huge piece of wood right next to where the Severums had just laid eggs. I could see that they weren't very happy about him being there. By late last night, this dish still hadn't moved and I really thought it was dead. Even this morning it was still in the same place and I thought it was definitely dead. Then I saw some movement and actually came out and seems okay, touch wood. I think it was just a little bit stunned about what happens. First it jumped out of the tank and then gets bundled up in a bag. I'll try and get some photos when possible

Cool. Never kept leporinus, didn't know they were jumpers. I swear, if you ever get an arowana, they put jumping to a whole new level!!!

I've got a horrible feeling that the fish may have suffered an injury when it jumped out of the tank. At the moment, it's sitting at a very steep angle, almost standing on its head and wondering if there is either a problem with the air, or swimbladder. Will just have to keep an eye on it

Touch wood, he/she is okay. Been swimming around and doesn't seem to be in an awkward position. Try to take some photos that this is the best I could get because of the reflection on the front of the tank and the fact that the fish kept moving. I'm sure I'll get a better photo at some stage. I've got such a lot of structure in my tank, it gives the fish a lot of places to hide which makes photography a lot harder

Yes, he's lovely. Actually, there's been no squabbles at all. I expect that will change when the Oscars go in
